Dear prospective Delegates and Chairs,
we would like to give you some general information regarding your trip to Germany and visa regulations.
If you are a citizen of a non-EU country that is not part of the Schengen Agreement you are required to apply for a Schengen Visa for entry into the Federal Republic of Germany and the duration of your stay.
Please consult the following list provided by the German Federal Foreign Office to check if you need a visa:
The responsible authority for the issuing of visas is the German embassy in your country. In the following overview, you can find the contacts of the German embassy in charge of your country of residence.
For further information, (e.g. required documents, process of application) please consult the FAQ provided by the Federal Foreign Office:
There is the possibility to send an email if you have individual questions (click on “contact”).
Please also consult the website of the German embassy in your country.
Important side note: The decision upon your application for a visa may take up to 14 days (or sometimes longer), so it is important to file your application in time! Moreover, I can take some time to get an appointment with the embassy to apply for a visa, thus you should book an appointment in time. You can book an appointment online on the website of your German embassy.
Please keep in mind, that you have to provide evidence that you are able to finance your stay from own resources, since the MAU Bayreuth Association is neither willing nor able to give a declaration of obligation according to Sections 66 et. seq. of the German Residence Act.
